    About

    Mr Hitesh Patel is a renowned Consultant General Surgeon specialising in General and Lower Gastrointestinal (GI) Tract Surgery. 

    In 1994, Mr Patel obtained his Bachelor’s Degree in Medicine and Surgery (MB ChB) from the University of Liverpool and subsequently he obtained a Master's Degree in Surgery from the University of London.

    Mr Patel completed the North East Thames Higher Surgical Rotation. After this, he worked at several specialist colorectal centres like St Marks Hospital as well as the renowed Mount Sinai Hospital in Toronto, Canada. He additionally is a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of England. 

    Mr Patel is currently working for Barts Health NHS Trust, where he is a Consultant General and Colorectal surgeon. Mr Patel's practice covers every aspect of general surgery as well as colorectal surgery. He routinely performs laparoscopic (key-hole) surgery for gallstones, hernias and colorectal cancer. Mr Patel also practices privately with BMI Healthcare, Spire London East Hospital and The Holly Private Hospital to provide clients with first-class care at a time suitable to them. 

    Throughout his career, he has published several articles in peer-reviewed scientific journals and has contributed to research pertaining to the significance of circulating tumour cells in colorectal cancer.
