About
Mr Gokulan Ratnarajan is a Consultant Ophthalmic Surgeon currently working at the Queen Victoria Hospital Eye Clinic, in Sussex. His specialist interests are cataract surgery for patients with glaucoma and comprehensive glaucoma surgery. He is also active in research, with the research interests: innovations in glaucoma surgery; innovations in cataract surgery and optimising patient pathways for glaucoma and cataract care.
Mr Ratnarajan graduated from University College London and completed his Ophthalmology training in Oxford. He has an MD research degree which he completed at The Institute of Ophthalmology and Moorfields Eye Hospital, London. He has three specialist fellowships in glaucoma and anterior segment surgery at The Oxford Eye Hospital, The Western Eye Hospital in London and the world-renowned fellowship at the University of Toronto, Canada. His many years of education and experience make him an expert in his field.
Mr Ratnarajan has many affiliations and memberships including Royal College of Ophthalmologist, UK Glaucoma Society and European Society of Cataract Surgeons. He has also received the awards UK Cataract Surgery aware 2015: Gold Medal, UK Cataract Surgery award 2015: Best paper and UK Glaucoma Society 2015: Best Poster. He has also published in many peer reviewed scientific journals. He also lectures to GP’s and Optometrists about Cataract and Glaucoma Surgery.
