Mr Edward Lee has continued to support my elderly husband, with a professional and general concern for the problems he has encountered, since wet macular degeneration has been diagnosed. We consider ourselves fortunate to have Mr Lee as our Consultant Ophthalmologist and Vitreoretinal and Cataract Surgeon.
I visited the Eye Unit at St Helier Hospital last Thursday morning, following some strange shapes appearing in my left eye, and was initially diagnosed with a detached retina and a large hole in the macula and was told that I would need urgent surgery to avoid losing my sight in that eye. Mr Edward Lee came to St Helier from Epsom Hospital to see me within 2 hours and decided to operate on me first thing the following morning. During the time I spent with Mr Lee he was always very thoughtful, efficient, informative, reassuring - and very polite to all the staff involved. My whole experience left me feeling that I had been given fast and excellent care by a very professional gentleman.
Two days after my elderly husband's cataract operation performed by Mr Edward Lee at Ashtead Hospital; and all is well! Mr Lee continues to give the professional treatment one expects but also has the human touch, for which one is grateful, especially at advanced age.
A very nice man, very helpful in the decision-making process about my treatment, caring and careful. I felt confident about his work
Extremely professional, caring, friendly, welcoming, reassuring and punctual
My husband and I have been receiving treatment from Mr Edward Lee for cataract removal and also, in the case of my husband, Wet Macular Degeneration. We are extremely grateful for Mr Lee's professional attitude and efficiency in all our dealings with him.
Very nice doctor lovely manor and advice
On behalf of my mother, who has just had her 2nd eye operated in to remove cataracts I would like to express our extreme appreciation for Mr Lee. At all times, from first consultancy to today's operation he has been a shining example of the excellent healthcare available. He has spoken to my mother and I with clear concise and non-technical jargon, explaining all procedures and actions. He has conducted himself with the utmost professionalism and his work has given my mother the life improving freedom we hoped it would. He was always available when needed and was meticulous with time keeping and approach to all areas of my mother's treatment.
Exceptional skills. Exceptional manner.
I was very professionally cared for by Mr Lee and Ashtead Hospital and was able to have cataract surgery on a date which suited me.
I greatly appreciated the excellent service and personal attitude shown to me and my wife by Mr Lee and everyone involved. (Complicated surgery)
Very professional, took all the stress and worry away by providing a clear explanation of the problems and the remedies. Efficient but sympathetic handling of the patient, straightforward after care and plan for further surgery, I'm completely confident in Mr Lee.
Excellent experience. I was very well cared for by Mr Lee and his staff and everyone in the eye day care unit.

All staff are very caring and excellent. Mr Lee is brilliant, very calm and caring.
Ed is a very thorough and thoughtful doctor. He is excellently supported by his secretary and administrative team. I whole heartedly would recommend him to treat all acute and general ophthalmology problems. He specialises in retinal disease both medically and surgically as well as cataract surgery.
