I saw Derek Lang for the first time in August 2019 and he confirmed that I needed a right hip replacement as I had Protrusio. He was excellent and very informative all the way through my consultations with him. He always tried to fit me in when it suited me. I eventually had a hip replacement in March 2020 at the Alexandra Hospital Cheadle. Derek Lang was excellent. He explained everything to me and made me feel very comfortable. I had no worries on the day of the surgery and he came to see me the next day to check everything was well with me. In fact he came each day I was in hospital. He is a wonderful surgeon and I hope I am able to have him again when my left hip needs replacing. Would definitely recommend seeing Derek Lang.

Mr Lang gave me a good explanation as to why to avoid surgery on my knee. I was convinced that I would need some sort of a surgical procedure but Mr Lang gave very good and common sense advise.

I was referred to Mr Lang with a suspected ACL issue, Mr Lang gave me a full assessment and I was asked to return following a number of physiotherapy sessions. I found Mr Lang to be very knowledgable and felt reassured that this was no more than a ACL strain which would repair after time.

Mr Lang is a first class surgeon. He is very down to earth in his manner and extremely approachable. I first visited him in summer 2017 as I was experiencing ever increasing mobility problems and discomfort in my right knee. I underwent very successful keyhole surgery. Prior to the surgery all my questions were fully answered in layman’s terms and I feel very comfortable having discussions with him.

I have had 3 very successful operations done by Mr Lang & if needed I would see him again as I have great confidence in him. The improvement in my mobility & pain level has been life changing. He is very friendly & approachable & explains everything in a way that’s easily understood. He’s also very honest about any negative side effects & I appreciate that.
