“Dr Barnick is an excellent OBGYN - he performed a D&C for me after I suffered a miscarriage and he also delivered my twins via c section. In each case the procedure went very smoothly and I had a very quick recovery with little bleeding or pain. Throughout my prenatal appointments, he always took the time to discuss all my questions and concerns with me and is very empathetic. I would highly recommend him. “

    About

Dr Barnick has more than 30 years experience in the field of obstetrics and gynaecology and works both privately and within the NHS, seeing women with a range of complaints. He believes that every patient should be treated as an individual, and he provides personally tailored treatment that has been fully discussed and agreed with each patient.

He aims to deliver excellent outcomes with minimal risks of complications. Mr Barnick has a private practice at OBGYN Matters and Portland Hospital in London whilst also working as a part-time consultant at the Homerton University Hospital (NHS).

In addition to caring for women who are pregnant, Mr Barnick specialises in laparoscopic surgery, fibroids, endometriosis, and urogynaecology. He also offers well-woman checks, smear tests, and fertility checkups.

His private maternity care is centred around a principle of patient choice whether this is a natural vaginal birth or an elecective caesarean section. He offers complete pregnancy  care, but, is also happy to see women for one off appointments and offers a number of different care packages. Give his PA Zoe a call or visit his website ObGynMatters.co.uk

In his gynaecology practice Mr Barnick uses minimal access techniques to perform simple and complex gynaecological surgery to reduce hospital stay. He also runs an accredited NHS Tertiary referral centre for endometrioisis

Mr Barnick gained his medical degree from the University of London in 1984 before completing higher training in renowned teaching hospitals in London. He obtained membership of the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists in 1991 and went on to become a fellow in 2005. He has worked his entire career at leading  London hospitals.

Absolutely brilliant experience from start to finish! My biggest regret is not having met Mr Barnick for him deliver our first child - our second child got lucky! He explained everything so clearly and was incredibly reassuring throughout. I cannot recommend him highly enough. I enjoyed the entire experience - even the delivery!

I really appreciate Mr Barnick's care and support during what was an incredibly difficult time for me – I really had lost all hope I’d ever be able to have another baby. Mr Barnick's expert skill and knowledge, alongside his caring and very positive attitude, was exactly what I needed at a time when I had hit rock bottom both mentally and emotionally and the struggle to get pregnant was taking its toll on all aspects of my life. Following my initial consultation, I felt completely safe in his hands. It was also a huge relief to be able to undergo the surgery so quickly which was really important as, by that point, I had been trying to conceive for quite some time and every week seemed an unbearable challenge on this journey. Following Mr Barnick's advice, I underwent surgery for two operations and was absolutely overjoyed when I fell pregnant just seven weeks later.

I recently had a laparoscopic myomectomy with Mr Barnick. He was fantastic. I would definitely recommend him. Zoe was also brilliant in replying to my emails so quickly when I had any concerns. Thank you both

During my pregnancy and the delivery of my son I was under the care of Christian and he was amazing. He always took time to talk through next steps and he really got to know me and my partner, answering any questions we had honestly. I never felt rushed and I had total confidence in him to give me the best care and advice.

I consider myself very fortunate to have been referred to Mr Barnick in November. Before my first consultation, I was in a lot of pain and discomfort and very anxious. He put my mind at rest very quickly. I did need surgery and it was organised very swiftly and efficiently (his PA is very helpful). Six weeks on, I have completely recovered from the surgery and have none of my unpleasant original symptoms I can’t recommend Mr Barnick more highly. He is kind and caring and clearly a man at the top of his profession.
