Mr Bailey explained the best option for me. As I am young, he recommended a partial knee replacement and I was booked into Winchester hospital after being on the NHS waiting list for nearly a year. Mr Bailey visited me before and after the surgery and left me in the hands of the nurses and physios. I went home the following evening after being looked after very well. I saw the physio team at 2 weeks and 6 weeks post surgery to check how the exercises were going at home. I saw Mr Bailey at 3 months post surgery and he showed me the x-rays and explained again what had been done. Mr Bailey was friendly, professional and put me completely at ease at all times. The surgery has made a real difference to my mobility and I would be very happy for Mr Bailey to do the surgery on my second knee.

Good explanation of procedure , positive experience and follow up care

Initial consultation felt perfunctory and bullish. Operation was a complete success, recovery was fast and I find that my long term knee problem is a distant memory.

I met Chris Bailey for the first time yesterday. My wife and I found him thoroughly charming, really patient-centred, deeply interested in the individual and the specific issues with which they present, and gifted with the ability to give very clear explanations, both in terms of current and ongoing medical condition and any resultant or potential procedures. Immensely personable, I left my initial meeting in just as much pain but with a heart considerably lightened by his care and explanation.

My first appointment with Mr Bailey was in May 2023, I was greeted in a very welcoming manner, so helpful as I was very nervous, then he explained clearly that the only option for my knee was total replacement, explaining the xrays in detail. Mr Bailey was aware of my recent medical issues and I and my daughter were very impressed how kindly he referred to that. I had my operation in October, Mr Bailey came in as I was having the spinal anesthesia which was very comforting! I was in hospital for three days and Mr Bailey came in each morning to ask how was and check my knee, his bedside manner could not be faulted. I have been pain free since the operation which is absolutely amazing and could not have been more impressed by the treatment and kind attention received from Mr Bailey. I was more than happy to write this review as so grateful for the care I received.

Chris Bailey was the model of professionalism from first consultation to final review appointment. The outcome of my surgery was extremely positive, all went to plan and I now have a right knee that works as nature intended. What more could a body ask for?
