Mr Bhupal Chitnavis, Consultant Neurosurgeon, works within London in several private practice institutions. He is highly specialised in spinal surgery, specifically complex stabilisation, development of new instrumentation, and orthopaedic spinal surgery techniques.
Mr Chitnavis graduated from Guy's Hospital with his undergraduate medical degree, following this he went on to do specialist training in surgery at Great Ormond Street and King's College Hospital. During this time he developed a special inters in vascular neurosurgery and spinal surgery while working alongside 2 very skilled surgeons, Professor Anthony Strong and Dr Richard Gullan, respectively. He has also worked alongside Professor Edward Hitchcock and Professor Lindsay Simon gaining invaluable neurosurgery and neurology experience. He also undertook training abroad in Germany where he learnt orthopaedic spinal surgery methods with Professor Jurgen Harms. He carried on this orthopaedic training at the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital in the UK.
Mr Chitnavis continues to contribute back to society by undertaking surgical charity work in developing nations. He is also an engaged teacher, training fellow surgeons on spinal and neurosurgery for the Royal College of Surgeons. He is a member of several professional organisations including the Society of British Neurosurgeons, the Independent Doctors Federation, and the CyberKnife Society.
