It is my pleasure to write a review based on my experience as a patient of Mr Gandhi. Mr Gandhi was one of several surgeons suggested to me by Dr Issa, Consultant Endocrinologist (equally excellent) who had diagnosed mild Primary Hyperparathyroidism. At my initial consultation Mr Gandhi explained in detail the results of various tests and options for treatment. I decided to go ahead with a Parathyroidectomy fully informed of the potential benefits, risks and likely outcome. I did not at any time feel rushed or pressured and largely because of this and clear explanation I left the consultation sure that I had made the right decision to have surgery. On the day of the procedure Mr Gandhi came to see me and again ensured that I had the time I needed to ask questions beforehand. He explained again how he was intending to approach the procedure and how long it was likely to take. I asked if he would ask one of the nurses to inform my husband when I was in recovery so that he could let my mum know that I was ok. Sometimes it is the seemingly little things that really matter to a patient and I very much appreciated this, as did my family. The day after the procedure he visited me and informed me that everything had gone to plan and that my recovery should be swift. He ensured that I knew who to contact should I have any questions between being discharged from the hospital and my follow-up consultation. Two and a half weeks after the procedure I attended my follow-up consultation. As far as I was concerned my scar had healed remarkably well (really neat and faint) and I was on the whole feeling great. Yes I was healthy beforehand but regardless of this I know that Mr Gandhi's skills as a surgeon played the main part in both the success of the procedure and my recovery. I know there are lots of excellent surgeons out there, however I now know that I would not have wanted anyone else to carry out this procedure. Mr Gandhi is genuine, assured and very personable and importantly, you never feel like you have asked a stupid question. Hopefully my remaining parathyroid glands will behave themselves but if they don't I will be seeking Mr Gandhi's expertise once again. Highly recommended.

I felt quite nervous and anxious but Mr Gandhi immediately put me at ease with his kind, very friendly and sensitive manner. He was so polite and understanding which enabled me to relax during the consultation. He explained everything in a clear and concise way and was more than happy to answer any questions. I was especially apprehensive at the aspect of the numerous diagnostic tests that I required but everyone was so caring, professional and reassuring. I felt in safe hands through my experience which is testimony to the exceptional level of care provided by Mr Gandhi and his team. I would not hesitate to return in future and would highly recommend Mr Ashu Gandhi and his associates to anyone.

Mr gandhi was very welcoming from the first meeting and was always very happy to answer as many questions as I needed him to. He explained everything very clearly and was always very sensitive and polite. He made me feel very comfortable and I really did feel like I was in good hands. He put me at ease the morning of the surgery and I am extremely happy with the cosmetic result of my surgery, which makes the whole experience far easier to cope with emotionally.

Mr Gandhi explained exactly what type of cancer I had and also the different options for reconstruction in words that I would understand and not too technical. He was very friendly and put me at ease immediately whilst still being very professional, always asking if I had any questions about the procedures he would be carrying out. I felt very confident in his ability and knew I would be in safe hands. Although it is a very frightening experience Mr Gandhi made me feel that he would make sure that everything would be done to make me recover well. It is now three weeks after my operation and I can honestly say that from day one I have been very positive and feel good.

I had an operation performed by Mr A Gandhi in July 2019. On my first meeting with him I had several questions that I needed to ask him, all of which he answered with patience and honesty. I was a high risk patient due to other illnesses that I had but Mr A Gandhi gave me not what I wanted to hear but what I needed to know! Before, during and after my operation the care that I received was amazing. I would most certainly recommend Mr A Gandhi as not only is he an excellent surgeon, he is a very kind and caring man and has improved my life so much.

My overall experience of being treated by Mr Gandhi has been extremely positive in all respects. His surgical skills are self evident, with the complete removal of a tumour and a partial reconstruction that has minimal scarring and a natural appearance. He was both clear and patient when explaining the treatment options available to me, offering advice but never pressure to choose. Undoubtedly, as well as his surgical skill, it is Mr Gandhi’s personal presentation and manner, both before and importantly, after surgery, that makes him, in my opinion, an outstanding practitioner. On my subsequent visits to him, as follow up consultations, Mr Gandhi was always fully up to date with my notes, was friendly and personable with a touch of humour and made it feel like our previous meeting was last week, not the previous year. This level of overall care leads me to give him the highest recommendation to anyone facing difficult circumstances who needs more than just a surgeon. Thank you, Mr Gandhi, for all the treatment I have received.

Mr Gandhi treated me for breast cancer almost 6 years ago. I found him to be a very experienced breast care surgeon, with great links with the oncology team at the Christie Hospital. He is very patient centred and was very supportive when I had adverse reactions to treatments. At an extremely stressful time in my life, I found his expertise and his care, and that of his team, to be the key factor in my good recovery. I don’t think you could have a better guide through the traumatic journey of cancer treatment and I cannot recommend him highly enough.
