“Mr. Noorani was extremely thorough with the difficult case I presented to him. Having seen several other surgeons for opinions over the past few years he gave his own perspective on what my options were for treatment and made me feel comfortable that despite us not knowing if the procedure would alleviate my pain, the small risks involved and minimal recovery period helped me go through with the decision to have a surgery. “

    About

Mr Ali Noorani is a renowned orthopaedic and trauma surgeon specialising in shoulder and elbow surgery. He is an expert on sports injuries and trauma and has treated numerous elite athletes, including Premier League footballers, professional cyclists, and boxers. He was also the UK team doctor at the 2015 Rugby World Cup.

Mr Noorani is well-known for dealing with complex sports injuries and trauma, and he is often referred to by colleagues to treat these conditions. He has a compassionate and holistic approach and prides himself on providing accurate and clear diagnoses to his patients, with clear explanations and reassurance for their problems. He uses physiotherapy where he can which leads to only 20% of his patients requiring surgery. Mr Noorani's special interests include the management of rotator cuff injuries and frozen shoulder, arthroscopy of the shoulder elbow and wrist, primary and revision shoulder and elbow arthroplasty, hand and wrist surgery including a multidisciplinary approach to carpal tunnel syndrome, the management of early-onset arthritis, and rehabilitation of the shoulder and elbow.

Having first graduated in 2000 from Imperial College School of Medicine, Mr Noorani completed his orthopaedic and trauma training before specialising in upper limb surgery and trauma. He went on to complete a prestigious fellowship programme in shoulder, elbow, and upper limb surgery at the Royal Liverpool Hospital as well as 16 months of training with the Shoulder and Elbow Service in Stanmore where he gained valuable expertise in complex revision arthroplasty and instability. He was later awarded two further fellowships from the British Shoulder and Elbow Society fellowship and the British Orthopaedic Association fellowship which enabled him to train further at renowned institutions including Harvard University, the Mayo Clinic, and the Rothman Institute.

With my physical issues, the Gp was unable to help me quickly enough. However, after finding a mention of Mr Noorani on google, we came here and he has been extremely helpful from the beginning. My arm used to be in great physical pain, but after Noorani’s help, the pain eased quicker than I thought and he helped me through all the stages of recovery. I highly recommend going to him!

I am in my late 70s and have been suffering from shoulder pain since a few years. I have been to several consultants but was not satisfied. I was referred to Mr Noorani by a friend of mine. He was God sent!!!! Mr Noorani listened to me very patiently and was able to diagnose me in no time. I am so happy at the results of my surgery and now living a pain free life. Thank you!

He is one of the best doctors I have ever seen in my life. Very professional and honest with his work. I had a frozen shoulder since 4 years and it was locked. Thanks to Mr. Ali for diagnosing it rightly. I am able to move my shoulder without any major pain now.
