“I am a man in my late 60's. Since I was about 18 years old, I had a troublesome varicose vein running the whole inside length of my left leg. This eventually led a fair number of years ago, to the whole length of the vein needing to be treated due to a bleed from raised spider veins at my left ankle. This was carried out on the NHS but it was not a great job and I discovered much later that the vein had never been  properly closed off. The bulging vein  became worse and I was eventuall seen by another Consultant who placed me on a waiting list which resulted in me being seen by Mr Lewis at the private clinic on the Lisburn Road. I found Mr Lewis to be a lovely gentleman with a very warm, friendly and down to earth manner. He was easy to talk to and he explained everything clearly and simply. Basically he was improving upon a poor job, and he did this sucessfully with no pain on my part. As can happen with time, new veins had developed with new bulges to my shin and small veins at my ankle had developed a high risk of further bleeds. I contacted Mr Lewis via the Hillsborough Private Clinic. I could have received treatment from him on the NHS fairly urgently due to the risk of a bleed but chose to start treatment privately within two weeks of my assessment at the clinic, which was much sooner and local for me. Once again, he has sucessfully treated the problem with a couple of appointments at two-week intervals followed by a review appointment, where a little additional treatment was carried out. All of this was carried out with great skill and without any pain for me. Mr Lewis is THE expert in this field. He is also very pleasant and easy to communicate with and I have every confidence in wholeheartedly recommending him to anyone considering treatment.“
