Mr Alan Doherty is an excellent clinician with a wealth of experience and great clinical judgement. He is also one of the UK's most experienced open radical prostatectomists with demonstrable excellent results. Working with him in developing focal ablation services in the midlands was a great insight into his methodological and caring approach to patient care.

I have known Allen for almost 30 years, both as a trainee and as a consultant colleague. He has been a very friendly, caring urologist with great judgement accumulated from years of diligent practice, experience and large volumes of minimally invasive and open surgical procedures. There are few other people with his operating skills for dealing with men with prostate cancer. He is an expert in diagnosing and treating early prostate cancer, specialising in targeted biopsies, nerve-sparing robotic prostatectomy, and focal therapy by HIFU. He is also extremely good at helping men with urinary symptoms pass urine with fewer issues. He has the highest standards of probity, decency and is a very honourable man.I can heartily recommend him to people.

I would like to encourage any patient looking for an experienced and patient centred approach to go and see Raj. He has been an enthusiast of focal HIFU and cryotherapy for many many years. His understanding of the need for a low morbidity treatment for early prostate cancer was way ahead of his time. Only recently, have I come to share his view, that precision diagnostics allow precision treatments with lower morbidity. Thank you Raj for being a leading light.
