Mr Jones is a Consultant Neurosurgeon with a large practice, sub-specialising in the management of brain tumours. He is the clinical lead for neuro-oncology and the Deputy Clinical Director of Cancer Services at his NHS base. He has extensive experience in the use of awake surgery and mapping to assist removal of brain tumours including low grade glioma, glioblastoma, cerebral metastases and meningioma. He utilises techniques such as intra-operative fluoresence, ultrasonography and integration of advanced imaging modalities to achieve the best results for his patients.
He leads the trigeminal neuralgia (facial pain) and hemifacial spasm surgery service, specialising in microvascular decompression surgery for these conditions. He has a broad neurosurgery practice encompassing surgery for hydrocephalus, back pain, sciatica, lumbar stenosis and carpal tunnel syndrome.

Mr Jones qualified from Imperial College London with a first class honours BSc in 2000 before obtaining MBBS in 2002. He completed his neurosurgical training in London and obtained membership of the Royal College of Surgeons of England (MRCS) in 2005 and Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons in Surgical Neurology (FRCS SN) in 2013.
Mr Jones was awarded the Norman Dott Gold Medal for the most outstanding performance in the Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons (neurosurgery) exam.
During his training, Mr Jones spent 3 years as the Rupert Johnson Fellow in Neurosurgery at St George's and was awarded a PhD from the University of London in 2013 into the role of advanced magnetic resonance imaging in the diagnosis of brain tumours which was funded by a Royal College of Surgeons Research Fellowship.
Mr Jones is a member of the Society of British Neurological Surgeons. He completed a Marjorie Newsome Travelling Observership at the Barrow Neurological Institute, Phoenix in 2015.
Mr Jones' primary research interest is the role of advanced magnetic resonance modalities in the surveillance of low grade glioma and diagnosis of brain tumors and is well published in this field.
