Mr Jaunoo qualified in medicine from St. Bartholomew's & The Royal London School of Medicine. During his undergraduate studies, he spent a year completing laboratory-based research in pancreatic cancer. He carried out his postgraduate surgical training in the West Midlands, including time spent working in liver transplantation, organ retrieval, hepatobiliary surgery and oesophagogastric cancer surgery at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Birmingham.

He was awarded a Master of Surgery with distinction by the University of Edinburgh for his postgraduate research and spent two years as Senior Clinical Fellow in oesophagogastric surgery at Oxford University Hospitals before being appointed as a Consultant at East Sussex Healthcare NHS Trust.

Mr Jaunoo founded both the Warwickshire Surgical Research Group and the South East Surgical Research Collaborative, has published several book chapters and has multiple peer-reviewed publications. He has a passion for research and medical education and has taught and examined medical students at the Universities of Brighton, Warwick, Birmingham, Edinburgh, Bristol and Oxford. He was twice nominated for ‘surgical tutor of the year' at Oxford University Medical School.
