Very pleased with the operation.

This operation, on Tuesday 9 April 2019, was to my left eye and followed that to my right eye on Wednesday 23 January 2019 (carried out by another surgeon) and the process was very similar in both cases. In neither case was I perturbed by the procedure and I had full confidence in the surgeons concerned. The procedure was painless and I was kept fully informed as to the progress being made and I was fully relaxed at all times, the staff keeping me comfortable while the operation progressed. The atmosphere in the hospital was friendly and professional at all times on both occasions. My left eye is taking some time to improve as did my right eye, which is now very much better, having lost the apparent film of liquid which was blurring my vision in that eye. This has now largely gone and I can now see much better than for many years and I have no doubt that my left eye will follow this in the course of a number of months to lose the film of liquid experienced in the right eye. I would like to thank Mr. Saruban Pasu (and, of course, the NHS.) for his expertise and have full confidence in the outcome of my cataract operation.

Recently had cataract surgery and although I was worried about the procedure I needn’t had. Everything was explained to me as we went along and the procedure went well. Thank you to everybody involved in looking after me.

My mother recently underwent cataract surgery in Bexhill Hospital. Despite being 85 years old her recovery has been remarkable. I have been with her since the operation. She suffered no pain, no discharge, no inflammation of the eye or peri-orbital structures. Since two days after the surgery it has been impossible to see any signs of the operation. I have been amazed by the lack of post-op reaction in such a sensitive organ. While she has found the eye drops irksome she has diligently applied them qid. She has yet to go to her opticians for the post-op reassessment of her vision but so far has not reported any great change to her ability to see properly. I am expecting this once she has new spectacles. I accompanied her to your clinic and was most impressed, and indeed touched, by the kindness, consideration and care you and your nursing colleagues showed her. Despite there being six other patients on your list that afternoon she received great personal care. From my experiences overseas of health care I know already the wonderful service the NHS gives its patients. The surgery, treatment and care my mother received was a personal example of these very high standards of health care. I thank you and your nursing team for your skill, care and compassion. From the start the service was excellent despite an initial problem with the appointment being wrongly cancelled. Mr Pasu and his team responded excellently in dealing with this issue. From the start I was well informed of the intended procedure. Waiting times were minimal and the treatment on the day was very good by all the team. I still suffer from slight weeping of the eye but this was not considered to need further attention by my optician at the follow up appointment. If I needed similar treatment for my other eye, I would be very happy to return to Mr Pasu and his team.

Had YAG capsulotomies today. Excellent doctor.

Mr Pasu was informative throughout my procedure which I found very reassuring. My aftercare was specific and helpful.
