Mr. Goodfellow received qualified as a doctor in 1993 and went on to complete his broad based surgical training working across Austrialia and the UK.

Since 2004 he has been an established general colorectal and laparoscopic surgeon. He implemeted a laparoscopic colorectal service at his trust in 2005. He was audit and research lead, before becoming Associate Clinical Director for surgical services at the Trust. He left his full time post at Chesterfield Royal Hospital in 2015, but continues to provide sessional work. He practices full time in the independent sector.

Peter continues to be active as Chairman of the medical advisory committee at Claremont Hospital, Advisory committee member at Huddersfield BMI and Medical Governance representative at BMI Thornbury.

Peter is an independent appraiser and appraises independently practicing doctors.

Peter has published widely and presented over 100 papers at international and national meetings. He has co-authored the text-book "Vivas for the MRCS".

His clinical interests are specialist hernia services, GI endoscopy (colonoscopy, gastroscopy), gallbladder surgery and anorectal diseases.

Outside medicine he is a keen athlete and represents Great Britain for triathlon in age group racing.
