Mr Naweed Shahid is a Consultant Gynaecologist specialising in Urogynaecology, Laparoscopic Surgery and Colposcopy. He also has extensive expertise in all areas of general gynaecology and typically sees patients struggling with endometriosis, menstrual disorders, fibroids and menopausal issues. He is based in the North West of England and sees private patients at the following locations:

Mr Shahid completed his primary medical degree at Nishtar Medical College, Bahauddin Zakariya University, Pakistan in 1985. After completing his training, he moved to the UK and received his Fellowship in General Surgery of the Royal College of Surgeons in Edinburgh in 1995. In 1998, he was awarded his Membership with the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists of London.

He completed his specialist training in Northwest Deanery, during which he undertook advanced training in urogynaecology, laparoscopic surgery and colposcopy. He became an accredited Colposcopist in 2003 by the British Society of Colposcopy and Cervical Pathology and in 2004, completed a Postgraduate Certificate in Medical Ultrasound. Mr Shahid was first appointed as a Consultant Obstetrician and Gynaecologist in 2009 at the Wrightington, Wigan and Leigh NHS Foundation Trust.

Mr Shahid prides himself in providing the highest standard of individualised care for his patients and bases his clinical practice on allowing his patients to be completely involved in the decision making regarding their treatment.

In his current clinical practice, Mr Shahid offers conservative and surgical management of vaginal prolapse and urinary incontinence and regularly performs urodynamics and bladder assessment clinics. He also has expertise in using laparoscopic surgery for managing these conditions, including laparoscopic sacrocolpopexy, sacrohysteropexy and vaginal sacrospinous fixation. In addition to this, Mr Shahid offers a range of office gynaecology procedures, such as outpatient polyps treatment, outpatient hysteroscopy and outpatient endometrial ablation.
