Dr Masood Khan

Mr Masood Khan has over 15 years of experience as a consultant cardiologist. He is based at West Hertfordshire Hospitals Trust (where he formerly served as Head of Department) and Imperial College Hospitals Trust. He specialises in interventional cardiology, a subspecialty of cardiology that treats coronary artery disease via angioplasty and stents. His additional areas of expertise include angina and coronary angiography, as well as heart palpitations, dizziness, and high blood pressure.

After qualifying from the University of Cambridge, Mr Khan went on to train in all aspects of general cardiology at world-renowned London institutions. He became particularly interested in percutaneous coronary intervention and underwent further training in this area. He also conducted research on myocardial blood flow using a novel scanning technique.

He became a consultant in 2005 and specialises in cardiac CT. He also offers FFRCT testing, a recently discovered procedure for assessing the severity of coronary narrowings only by CT scanning.

In addition to his clinical practice, he is actively involved in research, assisting in the recruitment of patients and the conduct of research projects on a regular basis. He is a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians as well as a member of other distinguished organisations.
