Mr Hooman Sherafat is a Consultant Ophthalmic Surgeon and until recently Lead Clinician at the Royal Eye Unit, Kingston Hospital NHS Trust. As an experienced Ophthalmologist, Mr Sherafat performs operations such as cataract surgery in addition to his specialist interest in Ophthalmic plastic, lacrimal and reconstructive surgery.
Upon qualifying from St George's Hospital Medical School in 1992, Mr Sherafat undertook higher specialist training in Ophthalmology at Guys and St. Thomas' Hospital and the world renowned Moorfields Eye Hospital. It was there that he later completed further sub specialist fellowship training in the field of Oculoplastic. Today he is a member of the British Oculoplastic Surgery Society (BOPSS) and a Fellow of the Royal College of Ophthalmologists.
Mr Sherafat has great experience in the field and a keen interest in cataract surgery and treating all aspects of oculoplastic disorders ranging from lid malpositions to non-surgical periocular rejuvenation.

Mr Sherafat performed a Cataract operation on my left eye. He is professional, focussed and trustworthy. Very pleased with the outcome.

Mr Sherafat gave a very clear explanation of my ptosis problem, the operation needed and the recovery expectations. He answered my questions with kindness and patience. He was charming and professional at all times and put my mind at ease. His PA was the perfect back up and went out of her way to support me. My ptosis was quite extreme but these operations have successfully given me back the whole of my vision with the added bonus of awakening the way my eyes look and feel. Thank you.

I had first and then second cataract surgery performed by Mr Sherafat and I am very pleased with the result. I was reassured and informed of every detail before, during and after the surgery with the whole process conducted in a very professional manner.

Explained the whole procedure from consultation operation and aftercare in a professional manner with in-depth conversation very friendly approach from greeting at consultation and day of operation, also written pre and post of things not to do and when things should be undertaken such as getting water in eyes etc
