From the minute I was given Declan's details I knew he was the person to carry out my surgery. In our first meeting he went into great detail about everything. No question was too much bother. Declan treated me like I was the only person in the world having the operation. He has a lovely way about him. Good for a laugh which is very important.

Declan has been brilliant from start to finish and I cannot recommend him highly enough. In November 2022 I was diagnosed with prostate cancer. My journey through the NHS had been up and down to the point where I decided to seek a private consultation. After speaking to a consultant locally I decided to look a bit further afield I first came across Declan while listening to the Prostate podcast by Gabby and Kenny Logan. I thought at the time how impressive he sounded. I did some more research and this reinforced my initial impressions : I learnt of his extensive experience and reputation for delivering the very best care and results for his patients. At the end of my first consultation with him I knew I was in the best of hands. He inspired complete confidence and trust and I felt totally at ease. He was highly personable, very straightforward and explained everything in simple terms. I was also struck by how passionate he was about prostates! I had a prostatectomy in February and just as with my contact with Declan before surgery he was superb during my stay in hospital. I was so impressed by how closely and expertly he managed my care to ensure that I had the best possible experience and outcome. He always goes the extra mile and since the operation and through the various check points his unstinting responsiveness and calm reassurance have continued. I also want to say a big thank you to the whole team who support Declan : from all my contacts with his PA through to the care provided by the nursing staff, specialists and other consultants they have all been excellent Throughout it all he has made me feel like I was his only patient – a great skill given how busy he is. My expectations were high but he has exceeded them in every way. He has been outstanding
