Over the years I have worked with Mr Cahill along with many other urologists all over the country. I can safely say he is one of the best clinicians and robotic surgeons I have come across. He cares about his patients and makes well thought out decisions taking into account the patients wishes and in theatre is meticulous in every single step.

Declan is an outstanding surgeon - fantastic surgical skills; pragmatic, safe and evidence based decision making; and has a wonderful bedside manner. If ever needed I wouldn’t hesitate to contact Declan if myself or a family member needed his expertise - I can’t recommend him highly enough.

Declan is one of the most enthusiastic, caring and motivated urologists I have ever met. Intimidatingly so. He is also a particularly insightful and honest trainer. He is engaged in all aspects of his dept, team and patients' care and most endearingly treats every member of the team the same whether they're a consultant, a professor, a PA, a nurse or a junior doctor. He never takes a back seat. If I had a prostate, he'd be the only one Id allow take it out.

I was introduced to Mr Cahill when I received the results of biopsies. He was very clear about the best way to proceed in my particular circumstances and encouraged me to have the operation without delay. In the event, the operation could not go ahead on the chosen date due to the Covid-19 lockdown but I had the operation shortly after cancer operations were resumed. Mr Cahill saw me before and after the operation and was happy with the way it had gone. The follow up consultation had to be by telephone and I was told the operation had been successful and the cancer had been removed. Mr Cahill seemed to be every bit as delighted with the result as I was. I have no hesitation in recommending him for the RARP (Da Vinci) procedure.

I am so lucky to have been in the care of Mr Cahill - not just technically an excellent surgeon but also very approachable and straightforward person. My post operative performance is doing very well directly due to the skill of Mr Cahill and his attempts to save what he can whilst minimising the risks. Thank you.

From start to finish , Mr Cahill was both reassuring and also very clear in his explanation of the process. My operation was on 26 March , just as the country went into lockdown, but he managed to help my through the process. His skills also meant that my operation was a complete success and I’ve had no issues.
