I had booked into a hotel the night before the operation. Mr Cahill phoned me at 8.00 pm to ask how I was. I was so grateful and amazed. He also came to see me immediately following awaking from the anaesthetic. His consideration and support from the team has quite frankly exceeded any expectations I could have had. From the first time I met Mr Cahill, he was excellent. He put me and my wife at ease straightaway, explained what would be happening, the after effects, the post operative care at home. He was very patient with me and answered all my questions. The night before my operation he called me at home and reassured me that everything be ok. Again asked if I had any concerns or questions. I met Declan shortly after my prostate cancer diagnosis and found him very helpful and reassuring. We discussed the treatment options as between surgery, radiotherapy or chemotherapy. He helped me reach the decision that surgery was right for me. The operation took place quite quickly thereafter and that went very well. A colleague of Declan’s prepared me before the operation with a series of exercises and also gave me a post-op exercise regime to help ensure my continence returned as quickly as possible. The post-op period has gone very well and I feel every bit as fit now as I did before my cancer diagnosis.
