Being diagnosed with prostate cancer doesn't make you feel good, but from our very first meeting Declan was cheerful and positive. I was immediately encouraged, especially after he reviewed my biopsy and MRI scan and said "We can fix this". He arranged an early date for me to have a radical prostatectomy using robotic surgery, and I was gratified to learn that Declan would be performing the operation himself, as I had previously read of his reputation on the internet and how highly he was regarded by his peers. The operation went well, and Declan came to see me in the ward shortly afterwards to tell me the good news in person. I felt in totally safe hands at all stages of the process, and my wife was also reassured by his kind telephone call immediately following the operation. I feel extremely privileged to have had Declan Cahill as my cancer surgeon, and my excellent recovery to full health and continence is a testament to his remarkable skills. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Declan and his team to anyone who is considering similar surgery.

I cannot praise Declan Cahill and his team enough , they are absolutely brilliant ! The whole process of my prostatectomy from start to finish was handle in the most professional manner with clear explanations of each step of the operation and recovery period. The after care and general follow up processes post my operation were great, never missed and always on time. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Declan and his team to anyone, they are fabulous !

Seems a bit cliche giving all 5 stars but I sought the best consultant I could find and was recommended Declan from a few reputable sources. I got what I sought (and paid for) with the realisation that I also got a team around Declan that was superb. His manner is friendly and light, but precise and accurate. You can feel the confidence and expertise that in turn puts you at ease. It is good to experience an expert at the top of his game.

Mr Cahill has a very straightforward manner and always explains issues very clearly. Both prior to my radical prostatectomy and during my subsequent appointments he has been very reassuring and has addressed all my concerns about my operation and future health. He was also very kind to my wife during the process and greatly reassured her of his intention to cure my cancer. A wonderful surgeon who should be given every accolade.

I was pretty nervous going into the whole process but Declan Cahill instilled confidence from the outset. From our initial consultation I had no doubt that this was the right course of action for me and he was the right choice of surgeon. And then he telephoned me at home on the day before the operation to make sure I was OK and answer any last minute questions I might have had. I've never had that before. Now six weeks post op and I know I made the right choice.

My whole experience with Mr Cahill was most positive and reassuring. I was kept informed at all times and at all stages. All questions were answered in a manner that this non medical person could understand. All procedures were clearly explained. He went above and beyond when I had to contact him when, after my operation, and not being able to reach Urology staff, he sorted the issue. There is no question in my mind that anyone considering availing themselves of Mr Cahill's services will be exceedingly well looked after.

Friendly and engaging but authoritative. Felt confident that Mr Cahill fully understood my condition and was the guy I could trust to sort me out. Took time to explain his approach, based on sharing diagnostic information. I particularly welcomed Mr Cahill's phone call a day prior to surgery which was very reassuring, similarly his call to my wife after the operation.
