Mr Selvadurai received his medical training at St Bartholomew's Hospital Medical College in London, where he graduated with a Distinction in Surgery in 1992. He then became a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons (Clinical Surgery in General) before specialising in ENT. In 1997, he was elected as a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons in Otolaryngology, and in 2002, he passed the final (intercollegiate) test in otolaryngology.
He went on to pursue a research degree and received a Doctorate in Medicine from Leicester University. He also gained the competitive Graham Fraser Fellowship in 2004 to support his training in cochlear implantation, Ménière's illness, and advanced otology under Professor WPR Gibson in Sydney. During his training, he also visited The Boston Children's Hospital as an observer and research fellow, and is one of the few UK ENT surgeons who has become a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons.
In 2004, Mr Selvadurai was appointed Consultant ENT Surgeon at St George's Hospital in London and implemented the Cochlear Implant Programme at St George's in 2006.

I believe you are reading review probably because you were referred to Mr. Selvadurai, but please, do not hesitate to stick with Selvadurai. I was also referred by another ENT specialist, but Mr. Selvadurai is an exceptional physician, and I feel fortunate to have crossed paths with him. Suffering from severe tinnitus and hearing loss, I was initially diagnosed with a cholesteatoma and referred elsewhere. Mr. Selvadurai diagnosed me meticulously and through careful examination and an MRI, he identified an alternative cause. He went above and beyond to perform a very intricate surgery, lasting 4 hours, considering my well-being and preserving the mechanisms of my hearing. It has been two months since then, and my hearing has significantly improved, and the intense tinnitus has subsided. Highly recommended.

He ordered appropriate tests and when he had reached a likely diagnosis, took the time to explain this and what lifestyle measures would help.
