Mr Soin trained at Cambridge, St Mary's, Paddington and Oxford. Soin was a lecturer in UGI/HPB surgery at Oxford University before moving to the district. He specialises in digestive tract disorders including bleeding problems and abdominal pain. He also has a special interest in daycare hernia surgery.

Mr Soin has advanced laparoscopic and endoscopic training. He has held tutor and educational roles and been a hospital governor.

I offer Laparoscopic Cholecystectomy (gallbladder removal for stone, sludge or polyps) and where needed laparoscopic bile duct exploration. I am happy to see patients with abdominal and pelvic pain and investigate them to establish a diagnosis and hopeful treat them. This may be such things as gallstones, irritable bowel disease, acid-related or non-ulcer dyspepsia or rarer causes of abdominal pain.

I am a member of the British and European Hernia Societies with a large part of my practice specializing in this. I offer umbilical, inguinal (groin), epigastric, spighelian, parastomal and incisional/ventral hernia repair. I am a keen sportsman and manage patients with sportsmans groin, hip & groin strains in conjunction with specialist physiotherapists. I offer advanced keyhole surgery and open techniques with or without mesh reinforcement in a tailored way to suit the individuals requirements.

I have a specialist interest in reflux (heartburn, difficulty swallowing and chest pain) and its management including STRETTA and laparoscopic anti reflux surgery (fundoplication). Ulcer diease and its manifestation, coeliac disease and other disorders of the GI tract are all part of what I do.

I offer a comprehensive endoscopy service with Upper & Lower GI endoscopy (ogd / gastroscopy and or colonoscopy). I manage benign colorectal conditions including diverticular disease, haemorrhoids, abscess, fissure, fistula and defacatory problems. I specilaize in the investigation of rectal bleeding (bright red or altered blood), perianal pain, itching and prolapse. I offer different treatments for haemorrhoids according to the grade of problem including banding, THD, HALO & Rafaelo.

I also perform skin lesion including moles & keratosis, lump, lipoma and abscess incision, drainage and excision.

I am an experienced endoscopist.

I have sub-specialized in hernia surgery, gallbladder surgery and anti-reflux surgery.

I have specialist interest in day case haemorrhoids treatments including HALO, THD and radio frequency treatment.

I am a good listener and actively explore patient symptoms of bloating, discomfort, weight loss & gain, change in bowel habit, anaemia/bleeding and/or pain.
