Mr Amir Darakhshan, Consultant Colorectal and General Surgeon, currently works within the Guy's and St Thomas's Hospitals NHS Trust. He also sees patients privately at several clinics in London and Surrey. He is highly experienced in managing and treating Inflammatory Bowel Disease, pelvic floor disorders, and hernia repair. He is very skilled in performing keyhole (laparoscopic) procedures.

Mr Darakhshan began his medical education at King's College London, before going on to do his basic surgical training in units throughout London and the Southeast. He further developed his speciality skills in colorectal surgery at several institutions including St Thomas' Hospital, King's College Hospital, St Mark's Hospital, and even a unit within Sydney, Australia. Throughout this period, he developed a keen interest in Inflammatory Bowel Disease, pelvic floor disorders and laparoscopic surgery. He has since been made a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of England and holds several professional memberships to the Association of Coloproctology of Great Britain and Ireland and the Pelvic Floor Society.

Mr Darakhshan is also an active member of the research community, which was established when he received his MD from the Royal London Hospital for his work on incontinence and the use of the Gracilis Neosphincter. He also has an expressive publication history, publishing extensively on general surgical, colorectal and pelvic floor disorders.
