Miss Akbar qualified in 1984 from the University of Karachi in Pakistan, before undertaking her medical training in London. She trained in several teaching hospitals in London including Guy's and St Thomas', King's College, St Georges and Bart's and the
London Hospital. Alongside her training, she completed an MSc in Ultrasound
Scanning at London Southbank University, as well counselling qualifications.
She was first appointed as a Consultant at King's College London (gynaecology and IVF/Fertility) and then moved to the Luton and Dunstable Hospital where currently works , at Luton & Dunstable hospital Miss Akbar developed and esatblised a brand new IVF / Fertility centre.Furthermore, she is dedicated
to providing teaching and training to other Gynaecologists. She possess skills and qualifications in medical education.She is a Royal
College tutor in the Advanced Training Skills Module in Subfertility and Reproductive
Endocrinology , Gynaecological ultrasound scanning and is also actively involved in research.
Her interests include Infertility,fibroids, PCOS, early pregnancy, menopause, laparoscopy, ultrasound scanning, endometriosis, recurrent miscarriages
and adolescent gynaecology.

I honestly, could not recommend Miss Shahnaz Akbar enough. After searching for such a long time to find a surgeon to perform a procedure I required, I can hand on my heart say that she is everything I could have asked for and more. I was treated like one of her family and her abilities are second to none. An absolutely incredible Doctor who I would highly recommend to anyone and everyone.

I found my experience with Miss Akbar to be extremely comforting and positive. Her bedside manner is the best I’ve ever experienced, really caring and at the same time, extremely positive that she can help get to a solution to your problem. I felt confident that I was going to be taken care of. I’ve also had to contact her private assistant with additional questions and I’ve always heard back from Miss Akbar / her assistant within hours.

Miss Akbar Was amazing kind and caring I can not thank her enough I recently had a gynecological procedure that was carried out by miss Akbar I can honestly say I would recommend miss Akbar I felt that I was in good hands at all times she explained the procedure very clearly I am so happy that I had miss Akbar I have now fully recovered from my operation and feel much better thanks to miss Akbar.
