Miss Elisabeth Adams is a Consultant Gynaecologist specialising in Urogynaecology, and has been a Consultant for 17 years. She is based in Bristol and is a Consultant at St Michael's Hospital. Miss Adams has a special interest in prolapse, incontinence and childbirth injury to the perineum. She also has an interest in psychosexual and couples therapy and labial counselling.

Miss Adams has an interest in research and she has published several research articles and has written guidelines nationally. She is particularly interested in researching third-degree tears and collagen issues in prolapse. She is also a reviewer for the Cochrane Pregnancy and Childbirth Group. Through her role as a committee member for the British Society of Urogynaecology, she has performed Health Care Commission investigations. Miss Adams was the Chair of the Clinical Governance Committee for the British Society of Urogynaecology and past Chair of the Guidelines Committee. She sat on 2 committees for NICE guidance 2006 and 2013.

Miss Adams has attended medico-legal courses focusing on the duties of an expert witness including report-writing and cross-questioning techniques. She provides her expert opinion on Urogynaecology clinical negligence cases.

Miss Adams is involved in teaching and she runs workshops to demonstrate third-degree tear repairs for registrars in the local region. She is College Tutor at St Michael's, looking after the trainees.
