Ms Deepa Bose is an orthopaedic trauma and limb reconstruction specialist who has been with the Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham since 2009. She is also based at the Priory Hospital.
She exclusively treats adults and her expertise covers the following areas:
Ms Bose qualified from the University of Calcutta in 1990 before coming to the UK for additional training. She passed the FRCS examination from the Royal College of Surgeons of England before entering the Welsh regional training programme in trauma and orthopaedics. In 2000, she earned her Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons (Trauma and Orthopaedics). Following this, she underwent subspecialist training under excellent mentors in the field of bone infection and limb reconstruction at the Nuffield Orthopaedic Centre in Oxford, which houses the UK's only dedicated bone infection unit.
Additionally, MS. Bose takes a keen interest in medical education, having completed an MSc in Medical Education from Cardiff University in 2010. Furthermore, she has served as regional training programme director for core surgery in the West Midlands and is currently Vice Chair of the Specialist Advisory Committee for Trauma and Orthopaedics, responsible for curriculum development and assessment of doctors undertaking specialised orthopaedic training throughout the United Kingdom.
