I was very nervous about having cataract surgery as I have other medical conditions in both eyes. Ms Khan allayed all of my fears and explained everything in detail to me. Now both surgeries are completed I couldn’t be more pleased with the results, I’m seeing things I’ve not been able to see properly in years. Amazing!

I have no hesitation recommending Sharmina Khan. Sharmina and her team at Moorfields Private (both at Bath St and New Cavendish St) were excellent. At each stage the risks and benefits of cataract surgery were explained. In March 2023 ( each eye 2 weeks apart) , I opted for monovision cataract surgery and now have greatly improved near, distance and intermediate vision. I pondered having multifocal lens instead but deemed the risk of reduced night vision, halos and glares etc especially when driving at night unacceptable. The surgery was painless, my recovery was quick and the after care reassuring. My new vision is amazing and liberating.

With great pleasure I write an account of my cataract surgery. 13 June 2023 Pre surgery consultation at Moorfields Hospital, Bath Street. Impressive "eye measurements"by 5 machines in 3 rooms. Followed by a detailed consultants eye examination(retina)with full explanations. Practical, speedy, professional throughout. 16 June 2023 New Cavendish Street Met by Temmy ,a cheerful and jolly nurse who took my medical history again on telephone 2 days before followed by anaesthetist -super professional throughout. There were confirmations asked from me, name ,what surgery, which side, at least 6 times. Surgery flawless. all completed and able to have lunch far earlier than expected. Thank you Sharmina. I had cataract surgery in both eyes. The procedure was painless and easy to understand and swift. My anxiety levels were very low and recovery was quick and easy. The sedation was so nice and was off with the fairies and nothing bothered me. I was just so relaxed. My vision was like being wonder woman. It was so clear and it was like someone had cleaned a window. Now my vision is fine for reading, computer and using a sewing machine. When doing a lot of reading puts glasses on for comfort rather than because can't read. I asked Miss Khan to do what my contact lens did for me in monovision.

Excellent service. Everything explained clearly.

While I am grateful for Miss Sharmina Khan diagnosis and professionalism, I felt pushed to sign up for an expensive procedure which, from what I understood, would be a preventive thing to do to avoid having the same problem again rather than actually solving my problem now. I also wished she had spent more time explaining what each of the things she recommend was solving for.

Very relaxing and good cataract procedure. It was quick and efficient. I didn't find it at all painful. Overall pretty good. The staff were very friendly and helpful.

I felt that I could not have been in better hands. I am an artist so my sight is most important.
