She completed further laparoscopic colorectal surgical training through two training fellowships and was an Ethicon Laparoscopic Colorectal Fellow at the Aberdeen Royal Infirmary in 2011.
From her training she developed her expertise in major laparoscopic colorectal procedures which she uses in her current consultant positions to perform minimally invasive colectomies and proctocolectomies among other procedures.
Miss Scarpinata is also a Member of the Association of Coloproctology of Great Britain and Ireland, the British Medical Association and the Medical Defence Union. She is also currently the Chair of the South East London Tumour group where she offers her expertise in colorectal cancer.

Miss scarpinata, is the most caring surgeon you could wish to have she made it quite clear what was involved in what was a huge operation, sets your mind at rest and shows huge amount of empathy, i cant thant her enough hughly professional

Rosaria is an excellent surgeon she answered all my questions before during and after and because of her expertise and dedication my operation was very successful despite it being a bad tumour and she managed to remove the tumour and re-join the colon without the need for a stoma for which I will be eternally grateful. Comment from all the nursing team and other advisors/care staff was that she is very caring and very thorough and particular. All traits that one would want in a surgeon. I was very blessed to have been under her care and will see her again in a years time for a check up.

Miss Scarpinata has been very professional, helpful and understanding. She is the only one who found out what the problem was after visiting different consultants for months. Miss Scarpinata explained everything in a way I could understand and with very much compassion and empathy which, is very appreciated due to the delicate circumstances. By my experience so far, in the last 3 months, I highly recommend her.
