Dr Syed Arshad Husain is a Consultant General and Respiratory Physician with specialist interest in Respiratory Diseases, working at Maidstone Hospital in Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells NHS Trust since 2006.

Dr Husain is interested in Bronchial Asthma, COPD Unexplained Cough, Lung Cancer and in Interventional Bronchoscopy, helping set up Endobronchial Ultrasound (EBUS) guided Lymph Node Transbronchial Lymph Node aspiration (TBNA) Biopsy services at Maidstone. He also has interest in Pleural Effusion / Pleural diseases/ Mesothelioma, Asbestosis, Lung Fibrosis, Unexplained Breathlessness, Bronchiectasis, Bronchopneumonia

Outside the clinical setting, Dr Husain continues his commitment as the Chief Course Organiser for the international Interventional Bronchoscopy and Medical Thoracoscopy course UK, an honorary senior lecturer at Kings College London and as a previous Executive Member of the European Association of Bronchology and Interventional Pulmonology.

Dr Hussain has published numerous abstracts on COPD, in addition to publishing papers in Peer-reviewed international journals on Bronchial Asthma, Endobronchial stents and Ventilator-Associated Pneumonia. Dr Hussain was also invited to speak as a guest at the ERS annual congregation in Barcelona 2010.
