    About

Dr Sukh Chatu, Consultant Gastroenterologist, currently works in the King’s College Hospital. He is highly specialised in all matters of gastroenterology, hepatology, and general medicine.

Dr Chatu began his medical education at St Bartholomew’s and Royal London Medical School where he qualified in 2000. He then went on to undergo a 5-year specialist training programme on Gastroenterology & General Medicine within the London Deanery, gaining experience from numerous prestigious London hospitals. During his training, he was also able to gain experience abroad by undergoing a year-long course in Australia. Upon coming back to the UK he undertook a research degree, resulting in him being awarded an MD for his efforts.

Dr Chatu has remained an active researcher with numerous peer-reviewed publications and a highly successful textbook. He currently holds the position of Honorary Senior Clinical Lecturer at King’s College London, and most recently he was awarded a Medical Research Council grant. His research resulted in him being invited to parliament to discuss how to manage gastrointestinal cancer; a hugely prestigious moment for him. He is currently a member of several organisations including the British Society of Gastroenterology, American Gastroenterological Association, British Medical Association, and The Royal College of Physicians. He is dual-accredited in both general medicine and is an advanced life support instructor, and aims to operate under a holistic approach.

Dr Chatu was very kind, caring and understanding of my son's health condition. He assessed his current condition, explained everything in a clear, calm manner. He made the necessary referrals, advised of the steps to move forward. My son and i both left feeling reassured at a valuable time in my son's life who is a student. We look forward to receiving details of our discussion and having the support to manage my son's condition moving forward.
