Dr Simon Sporton is a highly qualified consultant cardiologist at London Bridge Hospital. He has specialised in cardiology since 1994 and in the treatment of cardiac rhythm problems (arrhythmias) since 1999.
He graduated from the Royal Free Hospital School of Medicine, University of London, before completing postgraduate studies in Leeds and London, where he specialised in the management of heart rhythm problems. He then became a consultant cardiologist at University College London Hospitals before moving to St Bartholomew's Hospital. He is currently the Deputy Medical Director of the Barts Heart Centre, one of Europe's biggest specialist heart centres.
Dr Sporton specialises in the investigation and treatment of heart rhythm problems, including:

I can honestly say that my experience with Dr Sporton was outstanding. His knowledge, friendliness and attention to detail is second-to-none - I couldn't recommend him highly enough. Throughout my interactions with Dr Sporton, he took time to listen, understand the backstory to my issues and clearly laid out a path forward with a detailed explanation for his thinking.

Froom our first consultation, Dr Sporton was able to describe my condition in simple, clear terms. His demeanour was excellent as he took me through all the questions I had with patience and understanding. Fast forward to the surgery, once again he was a calming and reassuringly confident practitioner and made the procedure a relative breeze to experience. Follow up was as expected, painless and simple, and thankfully fuss free. Thank you Dr Sporton for taking such great care for me.

All my interactions with Dr Sporton were excellent, both before my procedure and on the day itself. HE explained in very clear terms what the issues were, how they should be treated and all my options. We hit a small (or so he made it seem) snag during the procedure when my physiology did not respond to one type of equipment and other than the little extra time it took to swap to an alternative approach there was no drama, other than a few extra minutes on the table. Everything was explained and I never felt even a hint of anxiety.

Dr Sporton is extremely kind, caring and knowledgeable. He gave me a great deal of time at my consultation, and made me feel heard and understood. I believe he routinely deals with much more serious health issues than mine, but treated my issues with respect and concern. He provided me with a detailed and clear explanation of my test results, and a referral to another branch of medicine. He checked that I was comfortable with the care plan and my change of meds, with a follow up call. I am very grateful to have been referred to such an excellent consultant.
