Doctor Sarah Mourik qualified as a specialist in Obstetrics and Gynaecology at the Erasmus Medical Centre, Rotterdam before taking up her position at London Women’s Clinic. During her training she engaged with research into a number of gynaecological conditions including the treatment of pelvic prolapse using robot-assisted laparoscopic sacrohysteroprexy.  Also an international sportswoman, she played basketball for the Dutch national team.
