Dr Paul Rees

Dr Paul Rees is an experienced London-based cardiologist and physician who specialises in interventional cardiology, particularly minimally-invasive stent procedures. Patients can book consultations with Dr Rees at BMI The London Independent Hospital and BMI Kings Park Hospital. He sees all general cardiology and general medical patients but has a special interest in the following:

• Chest pain assessment
• High blood pressure
• Coronary angiography
• Percutaneous coronary intervention including complex stent cases
• Management of critically ill patients following cardiac arrest
• Management of high-risk occupational groups (e.g. divers and motorsport professionals)

Dr Rees also has expertise as part of the UK's Defence COVID Recovery Service which helps patients suffering from cardiorespiratory of COVID infection.

Dr Rees began his training at St Bartholomew's Hospital Medical College before continuing with his higher training in adult cardiology. He then spent time as a research fellow at the renowned Hatter Cardiovascular Institute, University College London. He continues to be involved in research and his topics of interest include acute coronary syndrome cardioprotection, resuscitation, and advanced resuscitation. Dr Rees has presented at many international conferences and received an award for his work in 2018. He is also a member of multiple specialist society working groups on cardiac care.
