Miss Ourania Frangouli is a Consultant Ophthalmic Surgeon at Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust. She has a subspecialty interest in cataracts, glaucoma and paediatric ophthalmology. She is also a key member of the general and emergency ophthalmology team.
Miss Frangouli completed all her ophthalmology training in the London Deanery based at Moorfields Eye Hospital including two clinical and surgical subspecialty fellowships in adult and paediatric glaucoma and in paediatric ophthalmology in Moorfields.
She holds leadership posts in postgraduate ophthalmic training as Deputy Head of School for Ophthalmology for North and South London and as part of the Royal College of Ophthalmologists Training The Trainers subcommittee. She has held the posts of Unit Training Lead and College Tutor for Ophthalmology and is a dedicated medical educator and ophthalmic surgery trainer. She is a senior examiner in the European Board of Ophthalmology.
Before joining Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust she worked as a Consultant in glaucoma and medical education at Moorfields Eye Hospital and BHR NHS University Trusts and she led service and training improvements in these posts.
She enjoys charitable work related to Medicine and Ophthalmology in the UK and abroad.
