About
Professor Mike Loosemore is a well experienced Consultant in Sports & Exercise Medicine at the Institute of Sport, Exercise and Health. He has several years of experience in the treatment and management of musculoskeletal and sports injuries and actively promotes exercise as a way to prevent and treat an array of medical conditions.
During his career, Professor Loosemore has treated athletes from various sports and is currently Team Doctor to the British Boxing and British Snowsports teams. He has travelled as a team doctor with several national squads to both Olympic and Commonwealth Games and has held the position of Chief Medical Officer for Team England at the Commonwealth Games in New Delhi (2010) and Glasgow (2014).
Professor Loosemore also has several years of research experience and has published widely in the field. He is also passionate about educating future Sport & Exercise Medicine doctors and uses his expertise to educate in his position of Head of Speciality for Sports and Exercise Medicine Training in London.
As a testament to his exceptional work, he was awarded an Honorary Doctorate for "outstanding contribution to sport and exercise medicine". He also received the Sir Robert Atkins Award for in 2014.
