Dr Rose is a consultant neurologist with expertise in general neurology and a particular interest in headaches, blackouts, and unexplained neurological symptoms. Additionally, he sub-specialises in muscle disease and myasthenia gravis.
Dr Rose trained in neurology at Atkinson Morley's Hospital, the National Hospitals for Neurology, Queen Square, St Bartholomew's Hospital, and the Royal London Hospital. He spent 3 years as a Medical Research Council research fellow studying mitochondrial muscle disease and also spent a year in Rochester, New York receiving further muscle disease training. From 1996 until 2019, he worked as an NHS Consultant Neurologist at King's College Hospital. London and Queen Elizabeth Hospital Woolwich, London. He now works part time at the Whittington Hospital in North London. He has been in private practice since 1996.
At the Queen Elizabeth Hospital Dr Rose managed various general neurology clinics where he saw patients with all types of neurology problems such as headaches, strokes, dizziness, Parkinson's disease, multiple sclerosis, and epilepsy. He also established the First Seizure Clinic at the hospital and also helped to establish a nationally recognised regional muscle disease clinic service at King's College Hospital, focusing on patients with muscle disease, and myasthenia. He continues his neurology clinic at Whittington Hospital
Dr Rose is a co-editor of the Cochrane Review Group on Neuromuscular Diseases. He was a TREAT-NMD network partner, a founding member of the Muscle Study Group and member of the European Neuromuscular Centre research committee. He served a three year term as an elected member the the Council of the Royal College of Physicians from 2015 to 2018.
He is involved in research and has written papers, book chapters, and books on neurology and muscle disease. He continues to conduct research into muscle disease, with a focus on clinical trials and quality of life of those with long term muscle disease.

Explanation
Dr Rose is very pleasant and explained my diagnosis very clearly and also with compassion. He talked me through the diagnosing process and then took any questions I had and said I could contact him if I thought of anything else. I have confidence in him which is very important.

The consultation I received from Dr Rose was excellent, Initially I was worried about what the outcome may be but Dr Rose was so caring and really understanding showing great compassion and put my mind at ease. Explained everything in great detail and reassuring. I highly recommend Dr Rose as he has vast experience in many fields and the main thing for me was the care and compassion he showed me when I was really down.

Explanation
Dr Rose was very friendly, welcoming and put me very much at ease despite my concerns. His investigation was thorough and efficient. He gave me a very honest appraisal of what my symptoms were and gave me the opportunity to have quick further investigation to help put me at ease. He offered any extra help and and advice I needed going forward which felt to me above and beyond what was expected.

Dr Rose has been the 1st neurologist I've talked to and he was friendly, approachable and he made sure he had a holistic view of what was going on with me, rather than focusing only on the neurological side of the problem, which I believe it's vital to understand the why behind any illness. He is working closely with the gastroenterologist I'm seeing, and sharing the medical tests results, so that together they can come up with a solution. Very much appreciated. Thank you!
