Dr Irving was kind and supportive right from first contact. She took time in our session to carefully listen to me and my partner and her explanations were fantastic. She interacted beautifully with our son and her manner was warm. We are very glad to have found her at the start of our genetics journey.

My name is Tamara. I live in Moscow, Russia. Last summer, I consulted Dr. Melita Irving after undergoing a non-invasive prenatal test, amniocentesis, and fetal microarray chromosomal analysis. These tests indicated the presence of the following pathologies: X-trisomy and microduplication 1q21.1. Based on the results of these studies, Russian genetics specialists gave a very poor prognosis regarding both the physical and mental development of the fetus. They were particularly concerned about the microduplication on the first chromosome and strongly recommended terminating the pregnancy, despite not having experience with patients presenting with such pathologies. My sister, who lives permanently in London, advised me to seek a second opinion from Dr Irving. We had a Zoom meeting. My first question to the doctor was whether she had many patients with this problem, and she replied that she had. Dr Irving explained very clearly and understandably that the affected area of the first chromosome does not carry the risks mentioned by the Russian geneticists, and that there was no visible reason for terminating the pregnancy. Most likely, this duplication could be asymptomatic throughout the child's life. She mentioned a small probability of risks such as two types of heart defects, cataracts, and subtle facial features common among individuals with this genetic peculiarity. Minor developmental delays were possible, but, God willing, we would easily manage them. Heart problems were ruled out during the second prenatal screening. There were also no issues with vision or appearance. In January this year, my beautiful, perfectly healthy daughter was born. Every day, I thank God for meeting Dr. Melita Irving, who literally saved my child's life. A huge thank you for the professionalism and sensitive human approach. I urge everyone facing a similar issue to seek ways to save the lives and health of their children and to seek help only from such super professionals as Dr. Melita Irwin. With infinite respect and admiration, Tamara.

Dr Irving was extremely quick in her response to our enquiry and to all subsequent emails. She was very knowledgeable, kind and thoughtful and helped us hugely expedite the process of being referred on for pre-implantation genetic testing, which we were facing very long waiting times in the NHS for. We would highly recommend her services

Wonderful, professional, empathetic and clearly an expert in her field! We are so glad we came across Dr Irving. She was very prompt in her communication leading up to the appointment and during the actual consultation she was so thorough. Dr Irving is genuinely brilliant; not only is she so knowledgeable but she is also so kind and considrate and made us feel heard and listened to. I would 100% and more recommend Dr Irving. Honestly, this review doesn't even do her justice; anyone who needs to see a Dr in this field you MUST see Dr Irving; you don't need to think twice.
