Dr Kate Potter is a Counselling Psychologist practising in Fulham, West London. On account of her experience in both private and NHS settings, Dr Potter is able to support individuals with a variety of mental and physical health issues.
She runs sessions in a welcoming and comfortable space, which incites both ease and confidence in clients sharing their concerns. When treating her clients, Dr Potter draws on many different therapeutic approaches so that she can provide individuals with an informed and multifaceted approach to dealing with concerns around their emotional wellbeing.
Dr Potter believes that the "therapeutic relationship has been found to be the most important ingredient for successful therapeutic work." She therefore advises her clients to meet her for an initial appointment in order to discuss both expectations and hopes of therapy. After which, Dr Potter and her clients decide collaboratively whether to continue working together.
Primarily, Dr Potter is interested in helping clients to overcome their self-doubt, shame and feelings of unworthiness. Dr Potter's experience allows her to identify the root issues causing psychological angst so that clients can move forward in life with more confidence and inner authority.

Kate helped me when, during my pregnancy, I began to suffer anxiety and panic attacks. Familiar with Dr Kate Potters practice over the last couple of years I have been impressed with the sensitivity and calmness she offers her patients. Particularly with shame and self-worth issues and the anxiety, depression and consequent relationship problems, these issues can cause. Key I believe is her use of mindfulness techniques and in particular her own mindfulness of where her patients are and her gentleness in engaging with them.
