John O'Donohue is a rare breed when it comes to consultants. He is approachable, friendly, caring and thorough. His excellent bedside manner is never patronising and he listens intently to the smallest of details. I am not at the end of my journey yet but I feel safe under his care and know he will be doing all he can to get to the crux of the problem. I would not hesitate to recommend him.

Dr. O'Donohue is fantastic. From the first consultation through the diagnostics and follow ups, my experience has been very positive. The doctor is very thorough with his diagnosis and showed a lot of care and empathy, which helped me feel reassured that the treatment plan is headed in the right direction. Even though I initially approach Dr. O'Donohue with digestive issues, which were thoroughly investigated and diagnosed, the doctor also helped me find signs of incoming diabetes, and drafted a detailed plan to reverse it. Furthermore, the doctor is friendly, approachable and helped educate me about my health. I would recommend Dr. O'Donohue to anyone seeking an experienced and good gastroenterologist.

    SeHCAT Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS)
After years of being diagnosed with IBS and several procedures to no avail, Dr O'Donohue suggested a SeHCAT scan and discovered I had severe bile salt malabsorption. This plus the medication he prescribed was a real turning point for me and my symptoms have greatly improved. Sadly, social distancing was in place when he told me this so I could not shake his hand and thank him with the overwhelming sense of gratitude I felt!
