Dr James Hull is a consultant respiratory physician based at Royal Brompton Hospital.
Dr Hull completed an undergraduate degree in exercise physiology. Following that, he graduated from St George’s Hospital Medical School in 2000.
In 2010, he completed his PhD in exercise physiology. He then spent time at UCLA, Los Angeles developing further expertise in exercise testing with clinical application.
Recently he was awarded the fellowship status of the American College of Sports Medicine. He is also president of the Association for Respiratory Technology and Physiology (ARTP).
He leads both the unexplained breathlessness and chronic cough services at the Royal Brompton Hospital. He is actively involved in research in both of these areas.

Dr James Hull is an expert appointee to the American Thoracic Society guideline committee for exercise-induced bronchoconstriction and the British Thoracic Society group, working on improving diagnosis and assessment of unexplained (complex) breathlessness.
Dr Hull is a fellow of the American College of Sports Medicine.
