I was referred to Dr. Kariyawasam for severe seasonal allergies 4+ years ago, and have seen him both in his NHS and private practice. At that time, despite having seen many specialists, my allergies prevented me from spending any significant time outside in the spring/summer. Dr. K was able to quickly identify my allergies, prescribe meds to control the symptoms, and importantly, arranged for immunotherapy to de-sensitise against those allergens. This has really been life-changing and for the first time in my life, I am now able to spend time outside without hindrance. Dr. K also goes above and beyond in other respects. I recently had a medical issue which turned out to be non-allergy related. Nevertheless, Dr. K was able to quickly diagnose and refer me to the relevant specialist, and a senior specialist in that field confirmed his diagnosis. Dr. K’s manner of interaction is excellent. He always takes time to listen, explains complex concepts in an easy-to-understand manner, and patiently answers my (many) questions. If you have an allergy-related issue, you would only be too fortunate to come under the care of this excellent doctor.

Dr Kariyawasam is extremely professional and made sure all my concerns were addressed in our consultation. He is very approachable, open and he talked through and explained my issues in a clear manner. We also went through the best options and treatment going forward, even recommending me to a doctor who could better treat dermatological issues. I feel he is genuinely interested in seeing his patients get better.

Dr Kariyawasam is a professional and highly knowledgeable doctor. I had been suffering from symptoms of chronic rhinitis and met a number of specialists that couldn’t help. However, on our first meeting Dr Kariyawasam conducted a thorough investigation into my nasal symptoms and checked my nose fully, finally coming to a diagnosis. He explained my problem and all of my options clearly and coherently. I am now managing my condition well and see Dr Kariyawasam regularly to deal with any ongoing problems.
