Dr. Wernig is highly professional and sent me to have the correct tests done for a quick diagnosis. Furthermore, he took measures to exclude other illnesses. I felt and still feel in very good hands.

When I was diagnosed with phaeochromocytoma (cancer of the adrenal gland) Dr Wernig took care of my medication prior to the operation to remove the cancer. I visited him weekly whilst he carefully monitored blood pressure and my ongoing ability to cope with the alpha blockers needed pre surgery. Then I was under his care at Hammersmith for 48 hours prior to the operation, as he stepped up the drugs. I found him reassuring, professional, empathetic and happy to answer my many questions! He visited me every day in hospital after the surgery to check progress, which was most reassuring. Post operation, Dr Wernig is now carrying out tests to ensure hormone levels are normal and that all the cancer has gone (this will include a scan as well as blood tests). I feel I am receiving the best care possible from a professional who works at the cutting edge of endocrinology, whilst being approachable, kind and caring (which when you are coping with cancer, can make such a difference). I would recommend Dr Wernig as a Consultant Endocrinologist.

Dr Wernig is knowledgable, supportive and professional. During my consultations with him he was thorough, and considered various approaches to treatment with his network of colleagues.
