Diseases, Medical Tests and TreatmentsI am proficient in diagnostic and therapeutic upper GI endoscopy, including dilatation and stent insertion, colonoscopy and polypectomy, and therapeutic ERCP. Self audit shows caecal intubation rates of over 95% and selective bile duct cannulation rates of 90%. I am also an accredited endoscopy trainer.
I have benefitted from broad training in both gastroenterology and hepatology, and I continue to practise general internal medicine in the NHS. I am able to deal with referrals concerning the whole spectrum of gastroenterology, liver and biliary disease.
Particular interests include dyspepsia, Helicobacter Pylori, irritable bowel syndrome, inflammatory bowel disease, viral and autoimmune hepatitis, and alcohol related-liver disease. As a result of my research interest, I also have particular interest in the non-invasive assessment of liver disease by elastography.
