In 2003, Daniel Marsland obtained his medical qualification from Sheffield University. Marsland then completed his Orthopaedic higher specialist training in Wessex. He also has an MSc in Sports and Exercise Medicine at Bath University. His comprehensive fellowship training in foot and ankle surgery took place at Mater Adult Hospital, Brisbane Fortius Clinic, London and London Orthopaedic Clinic.
Marsland is vastly experienced in the treatment of complex foot and ankle trauma and was able to complete a visiting trauma fellowship in Liverpool. Marsland received the British Orthopaedic Foot and Ankle Society Gold Award to support his fellowship training in Australia. Mr Marsland undertook a travelling fellowship to the University of Amsterdam to visit Professor Niek van Dijk.
His current position is the research lead in Trauma and Orthopaedics at the Royal Hampshire County Hospital, collaboratively with the University of Winchester. Marsland has more than 30 publications in peer-reviewed journals. He undertook a research fellowship at Johns Hopkins University, Baltimore. He is an author of book chapters and also the Crash Course in Orthopaedics and Rheumatology that medical students use generally.
