Dr Mowat graduated MBChB with Commendation from University of Glasgow in 1992, and was awarded the Stockman Medal. He trained in gastroenterology in the West of Scotland and was appointed Consultant Gastroenterologist at Ninewells Hospital & Medical School, Dundee in 2002. Dr Mowat has a busy private practice at Tayside Complete health, having previously practised from BMI Fernbrae until it closed. He is a senior consultant with 19 years experience as a specialist gastroenterologist. He has previously served as Clinical Lead for Gastroenterology Services in NHS Tayside. He is the Clinical Lead for Bowel Cancer Screening in NHS Tayside.
