Doctor provides compassionate and empathetic care to me and works alongside my HIV consultant at St Mary's Hospital to enable joined up monitoring and treatment. Doctor was very supportive and sensitive to my needs in times of crisis and was instrumental in supplying detailed reports used as evidence to LBHF substance misuse team that led to residential treatment funding for my addiction issues during the past 12 months. He helps me understand the relationship and dynamics between my mental health condition and addiction.

Dr Mullar Pollard is incredibly conscientious, insightful and attentive. I wish him the best at his next placement and will be sad to see him go.

I'm very sad that Dr Muller-Pollard is leaving Hammersmith and Fulham. I have seen a number of psychiatrists over the years, often in more leisurely settings (expensive private appointments), and he has a quite unique ability to look and listen carefully (e.g. a Sherlock-Holmes-like diagnosis of a very new pregnancy from anti-sickness bands!). He in fact did not meet me very many times, and yet I felt as if we got to know each other well. I really appreciated his patient, reassuring manner, and lack of dogmatism. He's an excellent doctor.

Explanation

From my appointments with Dr. Muller-Pollard, I walked away with a better understanding of my condition. This made me feel as though I had more control over it, rather than it controlling me. This in turn reduced underlying anxiety and fear about it overall and I just stop worrying about it. If anything, I became interested in learning more about it and read on my own about my condition. I was very unhappy to learn he'll be leaving the practice. It's a loss that will be felt by more than one patient.

My Doctor is very thorough and always explaining and researching other ways that we can handle my problem. He explains reasons why I may need to change medication and what each medication does and how it can benefit me towards my health. He is compassionate and considers my needs and feelings towards my ongoing problem.

Explanation

Dr Mullard-Pollard I believe is exceptional. I found the doctor over several appointments empathetic, truly caring, highly knowledgable, and very engaged in his work. He did a thorough assessment for my condition, provided options, and encouraged my participation in my health.
