Dr Carolyn Millar is a leading consultant haematologist based in London. She specialises in thrombosis and haemostasis (clotting and bleeding problems) across Hammersmith, Charing Cross, and St Mary's hospitals and she is an expert in obstetric haematology, leading the obstetric haematology service at Queen Charlotte's and Chelsea hospital.
Dr Millar qualified in medicine in 1995 with distinction in all subjects. She completed postgraduate haematology training and doctoral research at University College London, the Hammersmith, Great Ormond Street and Royal Free hospitals. In 2008 she was awarded a prestigious Higher Education Funding Council for England clinical senior lecturer position at Imperial College London, where she holds a variety of academic leadership positions. Her work is widely published and she has helped develop national guidelines to optimise treatment for all patients. She is a senior examiner for the Royal College of Pathologists.

Dr Millar listened very carefully to my medical history and concern, whilst taking notes of it all. I contacted her for advice and after the consultation I felt that all my questions were answered. I would definitely recommend Dr Millar and I will use her advice again in the future if need be.

I was very pleased with the overall service provided by Dr Millar and her supporting staff. The booking process was smooth and professional and Dr Millar provided a very comprehensive and helpful haematological assessment, taking into account all factors specific to my broader medical situation. She had a kind and professional bedside manner and an excellent knowledge base about her area of expertise and its relationship with other health conditions.

Dr Millar is very detailed in her examination, examining full patient's health history from patient’s point of view (not only looking at reports/notes from preceding examinations). She particularly asked a lot of questions regarding my lifestyle to adapt/choose the right treatment for me and was very empathetic. From my point of view, she is an excellent healthcare professional, communicates clearly with the patient and provides clear guidance and advice. All of the former is reflected also in her notes, which are very detailed. She is very cognisant of patient's own time in actually needing or not to come for subsequent visits and open to communicate via phone/e-mail for patient's reassurance. I would certainly recommend her.

I am very pleased that I have booked to see Dr Millar. I was very concerned about the management of thrombophilia during 2nd pregnancy but the Doctor was amaizing, she listened to all my concerns and explained to me the plane to follow. She really knows what she is doing. I extremely recommend Dr Millar services.
