Dr Wasan began his medical education at Imperial College Medical School (previously known as St Mary's Hospital Medical School), he graduated from this school in 1994. He then proceeded to undergo specialist training in cardiology in London, before being appointed to his current role in 2005. He has had a successful career, establishing the local angioplasty service at QEH and holding the position of Clinical Director of cardiology for 5 years. He is patient care focused helping to lead several improvement programmes in his Trust. He is also on the interventional rota at the Heart Attack Centre at St Thomas's.
Dr Wasan is an active researcher, his main focus is heart function after angioplasty and bypass surgery. His research has resulted in numerous peer-reviewed publications on cardiac function, echocardiography, atrial fibrillation, and hypertension.

It was excellent to visit Dr Wasan. After assessing all my heart scans, I knew Immediately that I was in the hands of an eminent cardiologist. I was also very impressed by Denise his PA, who organised everything needed with super-efficiency. Highly recommended.

Dr Wasan is a leading specialist. It was impressive that he managed to see me within a week. The required tests were done the same day and the report produced promptly thereafter. Everything was explained clearly. He was reassuring and easy to deal with. I would recommend him.
